Extend the 63 bus route 3 February 2010

While I’m on the subject of buses, please do sign the petition to extend the 63 bus route from it’s current terminus at Honor Oak-Forest Hill Tavern over the hill to Honor Oak Park station and Brockley Rise. There’s also a facebook group on the campaign, which is being run by our colleagues at Peckham Rye Liberal Democrats.

It’s a great idea – filling in a huge gap in the bus network round here – and one that I and the Forest Hill Society raised at Lewisham Council’s Transport Liaison Committee in March last year. We were told then that they’d keep the proposal under consideration when the East London Line opens in a couple of months. So its a great time to be indicating the level of support for this extension.

Extending the route of the 63 is something we have recommended to TfL and have also asked our GLA members to look into. When we know more, we’ll report back.
